You can now apply for funding (until 30 June 2013) for courses in Higher Education for the 2013-14 session. Applications should be made to Student Awards Agency for Scotland (SAAS) and you must apply even if you only want SAAS to pay the tuition fees for your course to your College or University. Student loan and bursary applications can also be made to SAAS. Remember to check your College/University websites for other bursaries which may also be available specific to your course. Please refer to the SAAS website and SAAS Funding Guide for further information. SAAS may ask for evidence in support of your application. This evidence does not need to be sent until SAAS write to ask for it.
Several apprenticeships are available for School Leavers. Please refer to the School website for further information and the application process.

The School needs families to host international students visiting Wallace as part of the Comenius 'I Feel Good' project during the week commencing Monday, 24 June 2013 which is the last week of the Summer Term. This will involve providing meals and accommodation for one or more child for up to five nights. The children will have a full schedule of events so will be out during the school day and will probably have organised evening events too.
Six schools across Europe are involved in the 'I Feel Good' project funded by Comenius. These schools are from Austria, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Scotland and Turkey. This project gives Staff and pupils from these schools an opportunity to taste the different cultures of each country. This project focuses on investigating and promoting a healthy lifestyle through the production of a cookbook. These six schools will communicate regularly through video conferencing, through the School website and blogging. The aim of this project is to create "true global citizens", an understanding of cultural differences and with this understanding to reduce prejudice and stereotyping.
In previous years this has been a valuable experience for parents/carers and children alike to meet international students, learn more about their culture and make new friends. Our children will also get the opportunity to visit the participating countries in return at a future date. If you feel you could host one or more children from the participating countries and for more information, please contact the School by telephone, e-mail or send us an e-mail through the PTN website.
